In honor of Womens History Month, we are highlighting our Access For Young Women (AFYW) program, which has been supporting young women in Queens since the 90s.
“I graduated with a cybersecurity degree from SUNY. As I scouted for IT job opportunities, I kept seeing a job requirement of multiple years of experience, which I didn’t have. So I widened my search to more jobs in different industries.
On February 24, in honor of Black History Month, Black community leaders in Pomonok were recognized and celebrated during a special brunch at the Pomonok Community Center. Hundreds of Queens neighbors joined to highlight the impact of Black leaders who have contributed to Pomonok's growth.
