Queens Community House Welcomes Tyronza Murray as Associate Executive Director for Older Adult Services

Queens Community House (QCH) is proud to welcome Tyronza Murray as our new Associate Executive Director for Older Adult Services.

Tyronza is a mission-driven executive leader with more than 25 years of experience across the nonprofit and government sectors, leading community-based programs and services that strengthen families and improve quality of life for residents of all ages. Throughout her career, she has remained passionate about building inclusive, community-centered programs that promote wellness, connection, and opportunity, with a particular commitment to supporting underserved communities.

Before joining QCH, Tyronza served as Deputy Commissioner of Parks & Recreation for the Town of North Hempstead, where she oversaw a large multi-site system serving more than 200,000 residents annually. Her work included leadership of aquatics, wellness, recreation, enrichment, and community engagement initiatives designed to support diverse populations, including older adults.

Previously, Tyronza served as Executive Director of the “Yes We Can” Community Center, where she led a multi-generational community center serving more than 2,000 residents annually through older adult services, youth development, workforce initiatives, sports, and wellness programming. Earlier in her career with the YMCA of Greater New York, she managed multi-site community programs, including Older Adult Services.

At QCH, Tyronza will help lead a broad continuum of services that support older adults across Queens. Through six Older Adult Centers, Social Adult Day Services, case management, Meals on Wheels, Friendly Visiting, transportation services, and Naturally Occurring Retirement Community (NORC), QCH provides opportunities for older adults to socialize, share meals, stay active, explore new interests, volunteer, and remain engaged in their communities.

“Older adults have contributed so much to our communities, and I am excited to work alongside our dedicated staff, partners, and participants to ensure they feel connected, supported, and empowered to age with independence, purpose, and opportunity,” said Murray.

Outside of her professional work, Tyronza enjoys community engagement, mentoring youth leaders, supporting outreach initiatives, and spending time with family. She is passionate about creating spaces where people of all generations feel connected, supported, and empowered to thrive.

We are thrilled to welcome Tyronza to Queens Community House and look forward to the leadership, vision, and commitment she will bring as we continue supporting older adults throughout Queens.
