Meet Your Neighbor: Maurice Miller
September 24, 2018
I was a professor of Audiology and Speech Pathology at Brooklyn College for many years. I got my degree at NYU and my doctorate at Columbia University. I was always interested in how people express themselves and how they meet challenges. I loved teaching students something new - something that they weren’t familiar with.
I’m married to the most beautiful woman in the world. We’ve been married for many, many years. We enjoy being together, and we love each other deeply. We have beautiful children and grandchildren in California. My advice for a happy marriage is keep an open mind and an open heart.
It was my wife who introduced me to Queens Community House’s Social Adult Day Services program. I come here almost every day to sing, paint and spend time with very nice people. It’s warm and friendly here, and if I mess things up, the staff cover for me.
