QCH rings opening bell at New York Stock Exchange

Queens Community House, in celebration of 40 years of providing social services to the borough of Queens, rang the opening bell of the New York Stock Exchange to thunderous applause.

QCH Board President Michael Stellman had the prestigious honor of opening the markets with the push of a button.

“We are truly honored to have been selected to be a part of this world-renowned ceremony in celebration of our 40th anniversary,” Stellman said. “Queens Community House has helped thousands and thousands of individuals over the past four decades and we are proud that New Yorkers continue to recognize us for our great work.”

The bell-ringing ceremony is almost 150 years old and is watched daily by 150 million people worldwide.

Stellman was joined by fellow Board Members Blanca Izaguirre, Jonathon Vazcones, Libert Sang, Perry Poulos, and Jim Musumeci, along with QCH’s Executive Director Ben Thomases and other staff members.
