Women's Club Of Forest Hills Honored By Queens Nonprofit | April 29, 2019: FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — The century-old Women's Club of Forest Hills will be the honoree at the non-profit Queens Community House's "Local Champions" reception Tuesday.

Queens Community House, a social service organization originally known as Forest Hills Community House, will pay tribute to the 108-year-old women's organization during their annual spring fundraiser on April 30. The event celebrates groups and individuals dedicated to bettering the Queens community.

"We didn't even know that they gave these gifts out, so when we found out, of course, we were tickled," Louise Naples, president of the Women's Club of Forest Hills, told Patch.

Queens Community House will highlight the club's community contributions, which include 16 active chapters dedicated to philanthropy, civic engagement and a range of cultural pursuits. The organization will also name the recipient of its annual Queens Community Builder Award.

"Women meet other women of similar interests," Naples said. "We just try to offer something for everybody."
