Meet Your Neighbor: Ashley Stewart

I enrolled in Voyages South Transfer High School to make a change in my life. My friends were graduating all around me, and I was still many credits away. In Voyages, I learned about QCH’s Learning to Work (LTW) Program, which offers academic and emotional support and a paid internship to help students earn an income and gain experience in the work force.

My LTW counselors helped me keep my grades on track and find my first job. I could call my counselor at any time of the day. She became my rock - something I’d never had in my life before.

With her support, I graduated from Voyages and am now enrolled at LaGuardia Community College. She also helped me enroll in QCH’s College Access and Success Program, which offers the same kind of counseling support to college students. I’m now pursuing my degree in Criminal Justice, and I’m on track to graduate this June.

No matter what stage of life I’m in, I know my QCH counselors will always have my back.
