Meet Your Neighbor: Anne-Kenya Dubuisson

“I think it’s important to teach my son to be involved in his community and help him realize he has the power to contribute to creating change in his community and in the world. He will be able to encourage his peers to advocate for themselves and for others.

Voting is power. By voting you are part of the process of improvement and changes in your community, and you can elect individuals who have authentic and positive connections with the community. Like the late Congressman John Lewis said, ‘The right to vote is precious, almost sacred. It is the most powerful nonviolent tool or instrument in a democratic society. We must use it.’”

- Anne-Kenya Dubuisson, Counseling Specialist at QCH Voyages South High School
