Meals-on-wheels

Queens Community House provides hot nutritious meals, prepared at our centers, to eligible home-bound seniors five days a week, and maintains a contract and funding through Citymeals-on-Wheels to provide a sixth meal for weekend use. This additional meal is prepared and delivered every Friday. Emergency meal boxes are also provided several times annually through Citymeals-on-Wheels. Often unrecognized, meals-on-wheels deliverers provide consistent, friendly face-to-face communication with homebound elderly. Besides offering access to nutritious meals and interpersonal contact, our meals-on-wheels deliverers notify all clients about emergency preparedness through flyers in the case of an impending weather condition.
